
2022 Playoff Tournament Info
Dates: August 22nd – September 8th
(Note: these dates a subject to change based on weather/rainout and umpire availability)
Format:

Round Robin Tournament - Every team will play a minimum of 3 games
Note: Since the A division has an odd number of teams, one team will play an extra game that will not count
for them but will count for their opponent.

All Games are 1hr15mins or 7 innings in length (whichever one comes first)

A Division: Top 4 teams of round robin tournament will advance to the semi-finals, winners of semi-finals will move

to the Championship game.

B Division: Top 2 teams of round robin tournament will advance to the Championship game

C Division: Top 4 teams of round robin tournament will advance to the semi-finals, winners of semi-finals will move

to the Championship game.
-
Round robin games can finish in a tie.

Extra innings (to break a tie game) are only allowed in the semi-finals & Championship games.

Points are determined as follow:
-WIN=2pts
-TIE=1pts
-LOST=0pts
-
Mercy rule of 13 applies in all Playoff Games.
Rules:

All Hammond Slopitch Rules (per Rule book) applies

Make sure your team arrives a 10mins ahead of time. If you are unable to field a minimum of 8 players (including 2 girls) on the hour, game will be considered a forfeit. (There will be NO 5-min grace period)

Only players listed on the playoff roster card, sent to you by the league, are eligible to play.

NO SPARES allowed during the playoff. Use of players not on the playoff roster cards will result in a game forfeit.

Home team is determined by the highest ranked team based on the season results and determined on the playoff schedule.

Games are played rain or shine, however if a game must be called due to heavy rain, thundershowers, unsafe weather, or field is deemed unsafe to play, game will be rescheduled at the next available time, and confirmed by the executive committee.

In the event of rain or any other causes which interrupts a round robin playoff game BEFORE 5 full innings have been played, the game will be rescheduled and it will resume at the exact point where it was stopped, unless both teams mutually agree to accept the existing score as the final score.
-Note 1: Players listed in the lineups and not available at rescheduled game time may be substituted by another roster player.
-Note 2: A round-robin playoff game is only rescheduled if teams have not played a full 5 innings. (ie. If the game is called in the sixth inning; the game is considered official and won’t be rescheduled.

In the event of rain or any other causes which interrupts the Championship games, the game will be rescheduled, and it will resume at the exact point where it was stopped, unless both teams mutually agree to accept the existing score as the final score.

All bats used during the playoffs must be checked by the umpire before the game to assure it meets the NSA Approve bat policy. Only bats that have been approved by the umpire can be used during the game.
-Make sure your bats are all out when umpire is ready to verify the bats. Any bats rejected by the umpire
must be put away and not used. Players using illegal bats will be called out, a verbal team warning will be issued by the umpire. Should there be a second offense by the same team, the player in question will be ejected from the tournament.

In the event of a tie in the playoff standings the winners will be determined by;
-Points (PTS)
-Most Wins (W)
-Run Differential (RD)
-Most Runs for (RF)
-Least Runs against (RA)

BOTH captains are required to submit their game scoresheet via email within 24hrs of game time to hammondslopitch@gmail.com.
